3rd ESO oral exam

ENGLISH ORAL EXAM (2nd semester)
Deadline of the project: Thursday, February 16th           ebernabeu@anunciacionval.com

GUIDELINE TO FOLLOW FOR THE ORAL EXAM THAT WILL BE DONE IN GROUPS
1.      Think about the big idea (the product you want to sell).
Yes, you need a product to sell. It can be new, created by yourselves, something which has already been invented, a pack of holidays, languages, trips… Whatever you might come up with! Remember: the more original, the better.
2.      Write a script.
Each TV commercial needs to have a script in which EVERY student in the group has to actively participate and so, SPEAK.
You have to capture your audience and you need to get your message across quickly either in a subliminal way or bombarding your audience.
In this part, it will be assessed the grammar and vocabulary you use: quantifiers, conditionals, present perfect, modal verbs, vocabulary of the art of persuasion, and so on and so forth.
3.      Consider including a jingle, a song, … something which catches the audience.
4.      Once you finish your script… Check it out and hand it into Ester for any correction that may be needed.
5.      When checked, read aloud in groups so that you get corrected (if so) in your pronunciation. Should you have any pronunciation question… ask the teacher!
6.      Now it is time to record your TV commercial with “love and passion” as usual… Remember to stick to time!!! Each group will have to record a commercial of    2 – 5 minutes- No more, no less.
7.      Now it is time for technology! You can use any programme you are familiar with, but here you have some suggestions of programmes you could use:
a.      Linux: openshot, kdenlive …
b.      Ios: Quick Editor, Clipper editor, IMovie…
c.       Windows: pinnacle studio, windows movie maker…
8.      Finish it and hand it in using the email: ebernabeu@anunciacionval.com.
What if I don’t know how to send it? Eg. Not space… You can use google-drive, dropbox, wetransfer, one-drive…. And yes, this time you can hand it in a pendrive, BUT with your name written on it!
WARNING! Anonymous pendrives won’t be taken!
Deadline of the project: Thursday, February 16th.

3rd ESO compositions about hobbies

3rd of ESO students wrote a piece of writing talking about their hobbies. Here you have some of the articles they wrote.

EVERY ME…

When I was a little girl with two or three years old, I was really interested in melodies and color. I grew around my two passions: art and music; that changed my life. I won a competition of paintings and drawings. With 5000 people I was at the competition and with ten years old I won the first place. Now I enjoy my hobby, it’s my all and it helps me when I’m bored or sad. I want to study ‘’FINE ARTS’’, and become a clothes designer or even a conductor!

On the one hand, my hobby relaxes me and painting, listening to music or playing it makes me happy and full of energy. On the other hand… wait! It`s only that my hobby doesn’t have any cons because all time it’s perfect to do it.

Now, I don’t like looking at the future or the past. I want to enjoy my present and turn the most happiest possible I can. But if I think, I would like to do something related with design, languages, science or music.
ROCÍO 3C

MUSIC, ALMOST CONSIDER AS AN AMBITION

The activity that I love practicing is listening to music. I can’t stand doing a thing without music, because when I am listening to it, I feel more relaxed and I work better.

On the one hand, this hobby has its advantages, for instance, if you are bored while you are doing your homework, you can put a song that you like, and you will see that you will finish it before. On the other hand, it has its disadvantages. One is if you are in a place where you can’t play your music, you will feel more stressed, and if you don’t have a MP3 nearby, you can’t listen to it.

In the future I want to make music for the others. I’m hopeless at playing an instrument in an orchestra or maybe becoming famous for making pop music as a singer. I’d like to play music that people enjoy hearing.

ESTHER 3A

Wheels to enjoy

My hobby is riding a bike, because this sport relaxes me when I´m stressed. I do it in my free time, and I usually go to the river or to the harbour.

On the one hand, you have entertainment, you can be relaxed and you do it sport. On the other hand, if you fall down, you can have a dangerous wound. For that reason you should wear a helmet.

I have planned to this afternoon to go to the city center to see the “Miguelete”, I never go upstairs and I would like to see all the views.

ALBERTO 3A

My life

What I do in my free time is acting. I love acting. I started it when I was seven and now I’m in a school of acting.

On the one hand, I think that acting is the best thing I have done since I was seven. Because I always identify myself with the character I’m interpreting. And also, I have very fun in the rehearsal. On the other hand, the only negative thing I can say, for instance, is that I become very nervous when I act in front of an audience.

In the future I would like to be an actress and act in a play with famous actors.

TANIA 3A

Well done!! Keep on improving!

Books

Dear families,

Here you will find the books to read in the English subject. Each level is divided so books of 1st ESO are different from books of 2nd ESO (for example). Your son/daughter will have to chose ONLY ONE book of the following ones.

Reading ONE book and doing the project explained in class is compulsory for every student. There is also possible to read another book for the third evaluation, but this is optional, and will be considered in the final mark depending on the teacher of your son/daughter.

Regards

Queridas familias,

Oral exams guidelines

Dear 1st of ESO students,

Remember that the oral exam will be on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17.

You have to prepare a presentation to be the president of the English class.

  • You have to introduce yourself and try to convice from the very beginning the others to vote for you.
  • You have to tell your partners reasons why you want your partners vote for you.
You can follow the following sentence:
If you vote for me, I will help you to do the homework.
Power point, prezy, new technologies ...

Dear 2nd ESO students,

Remember that the oral exam is next Wednesday 18 and next Thursday 19.

You have to prepare and study a dialogue. The only requirement is that you both have to speak and in the dialogue one of you must complain (check student's book page 70 for revision).

The pairs for the dialogue where done in class, but if you are not sure who you are doing the exam with... ASK YOUR TEACHER AS SOON AS YOU CAN!

Dialogues must last 2 or 3 minutes and you won't be able to read. It is important you prepare and learn it by heart! (Remember it is an oral exam)

New technologies are welcome, just ask your teacher for guidance!
